Before joining the IASLC, he was the president of an association management company that provided management and consulting services to healthcare associations. Kelsey Wood works to ensure member program activities best serve IASLC members and strives to expand the organization's global presence. Kelsey joined IASLC in 2017 and worked her way from a member services coordinator handling member inquiries to Associate Director.  She is now responsible for the strategic direction of the membership programs at IASLC and oversees a team working every day to deliver value not only to IASLC members, but all those seeking to connect with IASLC's mission. Before the IASLC, Kelsey served two terms with AmeriCorps, managing a range of projects - from disaster response to organic farming.  She also spent two years learning and implementing Agile project management programs and is a certified scrum master.  She is currently preparing to take her CAE exam in 2024!

The Topic:  Best Practices in Creating a Strategic Framework for Studying and Effectively Deploying AI

Artificial Intelligence (AI) holds immense potential to revolutionize various aspects of our lives. With its ability to analyze massive amounts of data, learn patterns, and make informed decisions, AI promises to enhance productivity, efficiency, and innovation across industries. Since the introduction of ChatGPT in November 2022, we have all been faced with an overwhelming amount of information on AI including both opportunities and challenges.  In early 2023, the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) embarked on a team project to better understand AI and learn how it might benefit overall operations and assist IASLC staff.  At the same time, IASLC wanted to learn what pitfalls to avoid and to create a strategic framework for studying and effectively deploying AI.  Join IASLC’s Chief Operating Officer, J. Michael Hoehn, and Associate Director of Membership, Kelsey Wood, to learn what tools the staff used to learn more about AI.  See some of the ways IASLC is currently leveraging AI tools.  Join in an interactive session to discuss the implications of AI to your operations.
